Von Deutschland fast unbemerkt, wurden im Mai zum 8ten Mal, der "Audies 2003" in Los Angeles verliehen. Mit dieser Verleihung werden jährlich gute US-Audiobooks (Hörbücher) ausgezeichnet. Dieses Jahr war das Interesse für den Award sehr groß, und so wurden insgesamt 668 Hörbücher von den verschienen Verlagen als Kandidat vorgeschlagen. In die Endrunde schaften es 130 Titel in 27 Kategorien (5 Finalisten pro Kategorie). Unter den Gewinnern war auch Schauspieler Michael J. Fox, für seine selbst gelesene Biografie "Lucky Man".
